Recycled Craft Ideas - Crafty Ideas to Recycle Tins and Cans

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

By Liza Schmitt Recycled craft ideas are a great and inexpensive way to make use of items commonly found in your home. Tins and cans come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and with a variety of contents but dont throw them out once youve used up the contents! Here are a few fun ideas for recycled tins and cans: Pretty Picnic Flower Pots If youre having a picnic party theme at home, get a few medium sized tins that would suit having a few freshly picked flowers in them. Near the top, make two holes on opposite sides probably best to ask your dad, husband or brother to help! Thread some pretty ribbon through and tie it at the top, this will be used to hang the tin from the branches of trees or the rafters of your patio. Go into your garden and pick a few pretty fresh flowers and some foliage, and pop them into the tins with some water. If you have the time and creativity, you could also glue some pretty fabric to the tins, or spray paint them in the color/s of your theme. Pen and Pencil Holders Everyone will ask you where you got them! Choose the size or sizes that suit you, then decorate the tins on the outside you could glue fabric around and finish with a trim of pretty cord at the top, or spray paint them the color you choose. Gift Containers Here again you can use any size or shape that fits the gift. Simply wrap it with colored cellophane paper and tie together at the top with a pretty ribbon. Candle Holders These are lovely for an evening function, to line a path or down a staircase outside. Try find some low tins or cans, tie a pretty ribbon/bow around each one, and use a tealight candle or other low candle inside. Waste Paper Baskets Using the same suggestions above, either cover them with some pretty fabric and finish off with a trim of cord or feathers, or simply spray paint to the color you want. Craft Supply Containers Label them with the contents theyre going to hold. You can even get quite creative instead of storing them in a cupboard or shelf unit (which would probably be more difficult to get to) keep them on top of a spare desk or dresser, but dress them up first! You can wrap them with pretty leftover pieces of fabric, even rope, or spray paint them to the color/s you prefer. Reverse Cell Phone Number Lookup Ideas for Consumers

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Timothy_Alan]Timothy Alan You’ve been there a thousand times before. The phone rings, you see a phone number on the caller ID that you don’t recognize and you don’t pick up the phone. Instead you opt to allow them to leave a message and you’ll get back to them if it’s important. One problem occurs; they decide not to leave a message. Now you may be accustomed to checking out a online web listing service to see who it was that called. Instead you find that the person who called used a cellular phone and you are not able to see who it was that called. Your only alternative would be to take a chance calling them back and perhaps them being someone you really don’t want to talk to. Does that sound familiar to you? It has been this way for a while. Cell phone privacy is a big issue. Due to regulations there have been certain restrictions placed on the availability of reverse informational searches with cell phone numbers and carriers. Privacy is a good thing, we all want it. But when someone calls us and we are not given information as to who is trying to reach us our privacy is invaded. I know of many people personally who have been stocked by people who are not all there up stairs. Or random numbers keep dialing you without revealing their identity. Unfortunately law enforcement can be somewhat limited in helping you with these kinds of situations in most cases. Since this scene plays out so often with us the question becomes what can I do to protect myself and understand better who is trying to contact me? Well first you could decide to develop a policy of never picking up phone numbers you don’t know. If the call is important, you may reason, they can just leave me a message. If they never leave a message there is never a need for me to call them back. You could also attempt to call them back yourself from an unidentified phone number and play the game with them. Or you could enlist the service of an independent cell phone directory that will give you the background information you seek. If the redundant calls become harassment you may also need to enlist the services of a private investigator. Know Your Man: Love And Sex

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

By Maria Moratto Q: What is the similarity between a man and a microwave oven?A: They warm up in 15 seconds! “Men have two emotions: Hungry and horny… If you see one without an erection, make him a sandwich.” ~ Anon Q: How can you tell if a man is horny?A: He’s breathing. “Sex alleviates tension. Love causes it.” ~ Woody Allen In matters of love and sex, of course, as with many other things, men and women are not in the same page. Men need sex to give love; women need love to have sex. We all have our experience regarding this: you want some cuddling and he wants sex. You need some TLC; he wants sex. You want closeness and warmth; he wants sex. You really want to take a nap; he wants sex. Can they think about nothing else? It seems they cant. According to statistics, men think about sex an average of 6 times per hour. Six times per hour! Can you imagine that? It is no wonder he has a sexual response for every single physical gesture we made. At the beginning of relationships, when we are in love (or should I say, lust?) and we see God in the form of the beloved, we are game. Sex? Sure, we say. We have no problem with that. Then, times goes by and we start to wear out. We have children and only by a miracle we feel like having sex ever again. Anything can be an aggravation in our daily life and we fell like having no sex whatsoever. We change big time; men dont. Given that we are the ones who change; can we take responsibility for the integrity of our relationship? I think we must admit that we are at fault, and so, it is up to us to remedy the situation. How do we do this? By giving in. Also, think that most of the times when we dont want to have sex but do it anyway, we usually change our minds when we are getting closer to an orgasm. So, fake till you make it. Before you set your attack dogs at me, let me say that it makes sense to oblige. If love is what we want, and we can surely get it after sex, then, it follows that the only way out is by giving sex and receiving love in return. This may very well be the breaking point of our relationship. Are we willing to do what it takes to save it? Word of AdviceLadies: This is definitely the sink or swim situation. Perhaps we could compromise: a ratio of 3:1, meaning 3 times we have sex first to one time we receive love first. We can also compromise on the same ratio being: 3 times we have sex, one time we do not. Gents: Given that this is probably the most important factor in your relationship, try to understand that women go through changes. Though it is totally unfair, perhaps you could compromise and give some loving before you are consumed by lust? Maria Moratto 2006 Want to have more abundance, health, time, love, fun, and blessings? Breaking Your Relationship Pattern, Part 4

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

By Rinatta Paries Finally, after all of the hard work you have done completing your past, here is a way to break your relationship pattern. Relationship choices are often based on patterns created in our childhood. These patterns are automatic and subliminal. We believe ours is the way relationships ought to be. There is no problem having a pattern that leads you to loving, satisfying, long-term relationships. However, many people have patterns that cause them nothing but the heartache of unsuccessful relationships. There is a way out, a way for you to be free of your particular pattern and to be free to make your relationship choices based on what you need and want. The best way is to understand where your relationship pattern comes from. Then you can consciously choose what works for you and what doesn’t, what you want to continue and what you want to stop, and how you want your next relationship to be. Below is a powerful exercise. In doing this exercise, you will discover information about your relationships and yourself. Knowledge of yourself is freedom to choose, freedom to act differently, freedom to have what you want. Pattern Tracker Section 1. Instructions: Answer the following question for all of your significant past relationships. Significant means you had or still have strong feelings about the person. Go backwards in your history, starting with the most recent relationship. Write down your answers. What hurtful things did your partner do in your last relationship? What hurtful things did your partner do in the relationship before that? What about the relationship before that? Section 2. Instructions: Answer the following questions and write down your answers. What hurtful things did your parent of the opposite sex do to his/her partner? What hurtful things did your parent of the same sex do to his/her partner? What hurtful things did your parent of the opposite sex do to you? What hurtful things did your parent of the same sex do to you? Section 3. Instructions: You will need to refer to your responses from the previous two sections. To make answering the following questions easier, you may want to copy out those responses. Write down your answers. What are the similarities between the hurtful behaviors of your parents and your past partners? Are the behaviors opposite? Section 4. Instructions: Answer the following questions, writing down your answers. Your parents’ relationship with each other and with you is the basis for your relationship pattern. What kinds of pattern were you programmed to have in your intimate relationship? Are you repeating your parents’ relationship pattern in your own relationships? Are you reacting to your parents’ relationship by doing the opposite of their pattern? Example: (Names and details changed to preserve privacy) When my client Sonya did this exercise, she filled out Section 1 by listing all three of her significant relationship partners as unavailable and uninterested. Her most recent partner, Jeff, lives in New York, while she lives in Boston. He was barely making time for her. They were only seeing each other once a month and even then he would find reasons to be away from her. He was very argumentative and would never be the one to say he was sorry. Her previous partner, Ronald, simply did not want to continue in their relationship. Every time something would go wrong, he would back away a little bit more until there was no longer a relationship. Sonya wrote down that Ronald was unavailable because he was unable to be emotionally close. He was also uninterested — he did eventually walk away from the relationship. This man was not argumentative, instead avoiding arguments at all cost. Sonya’s very first significant partner, Rob, was the love of her life. They loved each other deeply, but even that did not keep them together or prevent him from doing hurtful things. As the relationship progressed he started to withdraw more and more. Eventually he lost interest in her physically. They tried to work it out, but he would shy away from confrontation and nothing ever got resolved. Here is Sonya’s Section 1: Jeff was unavailable, uninterested and argumentative. Ronald was unavailable and uninterested, and avoided confrontation. Rob was withdrawn, uninterested, and avoided confrontation. Sonya had to think hard about Section 2. She did not want to blame her parents or make them look bad. But as she thought about their relationship with each other and with her, she began to see some patterns. She remembered her parents arguing often. Her mother felt the father did not care, did not want her, and did not participate in the relationship or the family. Sonya also remembered that her mother was the one who started these arguments and did the yelling, while her father first listened and then walked away. Sonya’s father did not spend much time with her, but was a good financial support. When her father eventually left, he did not stay in touch. Her mother told her over and over how all men eventually lose interest and leave. Here is what Sonya wrote for section 2: Father unavailable, uninterested and avoided confrontation. Mother argumentative and blaming. Father not around for me, not wanting me, leaving eventually. Mother told me all men lose interest and leave. When it came to Section 3, Sonya copied out the responses from the previous sections. She came up with the following list: Jeff was unavailable, uninterested and argumentative. Ronald was unavailable and uninterested, and avoided confrontation. Rob was withdrawn, uninterested, and avoided confrontation. Father unavailable, uninterested and avoided confrontation. Mother argumentative and blaming. Father not around for me, not wanting me, leaving eventually. Mother told me all men lose interest and leave. In answering the question, “What are the similarities between the hurtful behaviors of your parents and your past partners?” she noticed many similarities. For example, she noticed that all of the men, with whom she has had a significant relationship, ended up treating her the way her father treated both her and her mother. Sonya also noticed with a gasp that all of her relationships have fulfilled her mother’s prophecy. In answering the question, “Are the behaviors opposite?”, she noticed that Jeff, her most recent relationship partner, was argumentative. In this way he was the opposite of her father and more like her mother. Here is Sonya’s Section 3: Father unavailable to me and mother; I find men who are not available. Father was uninterested in mother and me; I find men who lose interest in me. Father avoided confrontation; two of the three relationships were with men who avoid confrontation. Father left; I attract men who eventually leave. And mother told me they would. A man who is argumentative is the opposite of my father, but just like my mother. Finally, Sonya came to Section 4. What kind of a relationship pattern was she programmed for? The answered seemed obvious: exactly the kind of pattern she has been living out, where the men with whom she’s in a relationship become unavailable, lose interest and eventually leave. She is programmed to have relationships that are domed to fail because she is with partners who cannot work through the relationship for fear of confrontation. She had to answer “yes” when asked if she was repeating her parents’ relationship pattern in her own relationships. She also had to answer “yes” when asked whether she was doing the opposite of her parents. And she realized that doing the opposite got her the same exact result. Here is Sonya’s Section 4: I was programmed to have a relationship pattern where my partner will become unavailable, losing interest in me and eventually leaving. I am exactly repeating the pattern in my parents’ relationship. Sometimes I have done the opposite of my parents’ relationship, but got exactly the same result. If you do the exercise yourself, I’m certain you’ll have some great realizations, perhaps even a sense of relief. You will better understand why you attract and are attracted to certain kinds of partners. You will understand your relationship pattern. And in understanding your pattern, you will be able to break it and break free. Your Relationship Coach, Rinatta Paries www.WhatItTakes.com About The Author (c) Rinatta Paries, 1998-2002. Interest Paid to Overseas Companies Taxable in India

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Alishan Naqvee Overseas companies receiving interest on borrowings utilised in India are liable to receive such interest subject to applicable withholding taxes in India. In a recent ruling the Authority for Advance Rulings (AAR) has held that interest on debentures paid to an investor, who is a resident of Mauritius, is subject to withholding tax in India, unless it is specifically exempted. The AAR had been approached by an Indian company for ascertainment of its liability to deduct tax at source for payment of interest on partly-convertible debentures to a company incorporated in Mauritius. The Indian company argued that the interest income payable was exempt from tax in India owing to Article 11(4) of the Indo-Mauritius tax treaty. In terms of Article 11(4) of the treaty, interest arising in Country A derived and beneficially owned by any person who is a resident of Country B shall be exempt from tax in Country A subject to and to the extent approved by the Government of Country A provided that the transaction giving rise to the debt claim has been approved in this regard by the Government of Country A. It was contended by the Indian company that all conditions laid down under Article had been met as (a) the recipient of interest was a resident of Mauritius and beneficial owner of the debentures, and (b) the Indian company had obtained Reserve Bank of India approval for payment of interest on debentures, which approval amounted to approval by the government. The AAR, however, held that Reserve Bank of Indias approval was under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act whereas tax exemption under Article 11(4) can be granted only by the finance ministry. In the absence of any tax exemption accorded under Indian tax laws or the tax treaty, the Indian company was obliged to deduct tax at source at the prevailing rates in force. Mere approval from the Reserve Bank of India for the issue of such securities to a non-resident does not imply approval for tax exemption, the AAR said. he Awesome Power of Testimonials For Marketing Your Business

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Glenn Ebersole One of the most extremely powerful marketing tools that we have in business is the testimonial. Yet many times we use the excuse of being too busy or I am not comfortable asking to not actively request testimonials from our clients and customers. Well, I want to tell you that testimonials can have a tremendous impact on people deciding whether or not to do business with you and your company. And why is that true? People feel more confident about doing business with you if they know there are other satisfied customers. Frankly, the use of testimonials is one technique that is virtually guaranteed to increase your business. Can you imagine the awesome power of 10, 25, 50 or more testimonials praising your products and/or services, a presentation you made or some personal attribute? This would be more compelling and believable than anything you could say about yourself when presenting yourself and your company to a prospective or existing client. Testimonials provide a reason to believe, which is a major element of a successful integrated marketing communications strategy. The testimonial can be written or spoken and is most powerful when it comes from a person or persons with a similar profile as the people in your target market. Whenever you have a customer, peer, industry expert, or other key influencer extol the value and benefits of your products and/or services, you gain a powerful endorsement and a compelling reason to believe in your ability to deliver the promised benefits and values to the client. When we create integrated marketing communications plans with our clients, I stress the power of testimonials as a marketing tool. Why do I do this? I do it because I have seen testimonials as third-party credible evidence that convince prospects that the company will deliver on their promises. Testimonials are more likely to be believed than advertisements, direct mail, and other marketing materials. I also have found that peer testimonials are the top reason or influence for buying certain types of products, especially those that involve high technology. Testimonials on your web site serve many positive purposes. One of the main purposes is that your company is legitimate, has been in business for a period of time and has provided the products and services claimed to satisfy customers. In addition, when people read testimonials, they feel more confident in your company, products and services. My closing thought is to strongly encourage and recommend that you seek testimonials and integrate them into your marketing and sales activities. Use the power of testimonials to help grow your business. Why not commit yourself today to using this powerful marketing tool. Are You Serious About Accountability In Order To Lose Weight

Friday, September 21st, 2007

By Nicholas Yphantides Greetings comrades in health stewardship, Today I have a challenge for you and that challenge has to do with the big A word - The question of accountability. How serious are you about accountability? Im not going to reiterate the same thing over and over again, but I think you know by now that I, and many of us in this healthsteward.com community, are absolutely convinced of the fact that what matters and what will really make the difference in our journey is including meaningful, powerful, gracious, and supportive accountability into our weight loss journey. Just yesterday I was poking around the internet and was intrigued to find a couple websites that track where the weight loss books are in terms of best selling books. It was an exciting moment in my life as an author that for aboutweek and a half (after there was some media coverage on CNN) my book was one of the top 10 best selling weight loss and self-improvement books in the country. Since then things have cooled off a bit, and Im back in the middle of the pack once again. But it was interesting to me that the current number one weight loss book, (Im not going to call it out by name) that is selling like hotcakes on amazon.com, online, and in bookstores right now is a weight loss book by another physician whos whole premise to me does not make any medical sense. This whole premise of weight loss to this individual is the process of inflammation. By combating inflammation that occurs in the body, it will lead to significant and appropriate weight-loss. There is a whole focus once again on supplementation of certain vitamins and nutrients and other nutraceuticals as we call them, mixtures of nutrients and pharmaceuticals that are being promoted as part of the process of this authors book. To me this is such a disappointment. Im not going to go off complaining, whining and be a naysayer about the latest trend. But its really sad, and really pathetic. I think this concept is misleading, and it misses the entire point. As unsexy and unattractive as our message is, its the truth. Accountability to me, not inflammation, is the essential thing that needs to be incorporated and needs to be addressed, among many other things. But as you know disproportionately that I am just convinced of the fact that this is not a journey that can be traveled alone. In that light I liked to spend a couple minutes and give attention to one of our fellow HealthStewards. This steward forwarded me via email a part of their holiday greeting, a message he had literally sent out to everyone in his life who had received his familys Christmas and holiday greeting. It was amazing. Im actually going to read part of it that to me captures the essence, and is like a hall of fame proclamation and request for accountability. What was particularly intriguing about him doing this is that as of August 1st he had lost 56 pounds. Since then no doubt as a result of lots of things going on in his life right now and his also self admitted self-discipline and determination sort of slacking off for a period of time, he actually has gained back 12 of those pounds. So he was at a weight that had led to a net loss of 44 pounds from the beginning of his journey with his intention being a 100-pound weight loss from the start. I just want to read to you part of the letter. Im going to depart part from the norm of talking off the top of my head and sharing from my heart. I want to spent a couple minutes reading part of the note that this steward included in his Christmas greeting to all his family, loved ones, and friends. I thought was so very powerful and something I want you to think about and something I want you to ask yourself if are you ready for this level of accountability? He writes, First I believe I owe this to you since you have been kind enough to encourage me in ways over the last ten months. In addition several of you pledged an unspecified contribution to one of my two favorite charities when I hit my goal. Regrettably for the people who would have benefited from your kindness, if you are one who made a pledge, you are now officially off the hook. There is no healthy way that I am going to be able to hit my weight loss goal by that target date. My gift to those charities this Christmas will reflect my gratitude for you and for my success in this effort so far. But it isnt over until its over. The second reason for this note, you may recall from my March letter, is that I personally need to be public and accountable in this effort. Part of who I am needs to stick my neck out in order to help assure my success rather than merely undertake a private effort so as to avoid an embarrassing situation in case I fail. Praise me or prod me whichever is appropriate; they both work for me. If you think I am slacking off on this I hope you will challenge me and not let me get away with double talk about the situation. My third reason for this note is to let you know that I would still greatly appreciate your prayers asking God to give me fortitude and willingness to do whatever healthy means it takes to get this done. Im sure some people can loose weight by their independent efforts. I personally know that I cant do this without Gods help. One more thing when time becomes more available after the holidays, I invite those of you who run around the internet to come and see how Im doing at the website address at www.healthsteward.com Just open the homepage and click on my picture that is posted with the other Healthstewards who are on the same excursion. Knowing that you may occasionally be looking to see how Im doing will be a huge motivation to me. I hope to see you there. Thanks again for all your support and encouragement to me in so many ways. My hats are off to this steward in a huge way. Fellow Stewards Im not saying that all of you have to reach deep into this level of accountability. But talk about putting it on the line, and putting on the line with your circle of family, friends, acquaintances and in this case to all the people who received this stewards holiday greeting. I was so impressed, thankful, and so very amazed with this accomplishment and willingness that it was something I had to share with you. So my question to you is how serious are you about your own accountability? Dr. Nick is a San Diego physician who weighed 467lbs - one of the fattest doctors in America! He lived a life of hypocrisy, telling his patients, Do as I say, not as I do. He lost over 250lbs a few years back and now encourages others to do the same. http://www.healthsteward.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Nicholas_Yphantides http://EzineArticles.com/?Are-You-Serious-About-Accountability-In-Order-To-Lose-Weight&id=517781 increase semen amount lots more sperm clomid and male infertility how to increase semen production

7 Ways To Cheer Your Kids Up On A Rainy Day

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

By Susanne Myers You know those daysIts been pouring for hours (or even day) and the kids have the Rainy Day Blues. Here are some simple ways to cheer them up and keep them entertained until the weather clears up. Make A Batch Of Cookies What child doesnt love to make and of course eat cookies. Whip up a batch of your favorite chocolate chip or sugar cookie dough. Make them special by adding some small candies like mini M&Ms. With sugar cookies, you can keep the kids busy even longer by letting them cut out shapes with cookie cutters. Bake the cookies, and then pour everyone a big glass of milk to serve with the warm baked treats. Play A Board Game Remember those boxes of board games that have been collecting dust in the closet? Dig one of them out and ask the kids to join you for a fun game of Candyland, Memory or The Game Of Life. Just grab one of your old favorites and share it with the kids. Card games also work well. Go Play In The Rain As long as its not too cold outside and of course only while there are no thunderstorms in the area, playing in the rain can be a lot of fun. Get everyone dressed in their rain gear (including boots) and go jump in some puddles. I bet you have forgotten how much fun that can be and the kids wont believe Mom is actually outside jumping around with them. What a great way to bond with your kids. Watch A Movie Together When was the last time you snuggled up on the couch with the kids and watched a movie together? Rainy days are perfect for this. Pop some popcorn and enjoy the show. Take it even further by reenacting scenes later, or making a craft that relates to the movie. Build A Fort Inside What child doesnt love to build a tent or fort? When its pouring outside, bring the fun inside. Throw a blanket over a few chairs for a quick tent hide away, or take the cushions off the couch and build a fort. Spread an old blanket or a towel out on the floor and serve the kids lunch in their tent or fort. Play Dress Up Playing dress up is another great way to spend a fun afternoon with the kids. Start by raiding your closet and any Halloween costumes you have been saving for next year. A white shirt will become a doctors white coat. Your prom dress or even a fancy blouse will turn your little girl into a princess or beauty queen. Make other props out of cardboard boxes, construction paper and anything else you can find around the house. Get Out The Craft Box Do you have a craft box? If not, just grab some construction paper, scissors, glue and some old magazines. The kids will be busy for hours making collages or creating storybooks. For younger kids keep a few coloring books and a box of crayons handy. A few tubs of playdough are also a welcome distraction when its raining outside. Benefits of a Payday Loan

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jeff_Lakie]Jeff Lakie Were you recently hit with a big bill that you weren’t really expecting? Have you found yourself cash-poor with a while to wait before your next payday rolls around? You might want to consider a payday loan. Payday loans can help those who are short on cash and who need a little bit of money upfront before the next check comes through. Many currency exchanges and other lenders offer payday loans. A payday loan is like a cash advance. It allows you to obtain cash today and pay it back once your next check comes in. Most of the time, it is easy to apply for a payday loan, and lenders can tell you quickly whether or not you qualify. After you fill out an application, lenders will run the application and let you know on the spot if you’re approved. If so, the payday loan is deposited directly into your bank account, and you can have immediate access to the funds. Sound too good to be true? Maybe so. While the service is entirely legitimate, there are a few things to remember about a payday loan. First of all, it is a loan, not a gift. As with any loan, payday loans come with interest attached. The longer you need to pay back the payday loan, the more interest you’ll end up being charged. Most lenders offer flexible payment options, so keep this in mind when you choose the term for your payday loan. Remember this, too, when you decide how much to borrow with a payday loan. If you borrow the total amount of your paycheck, you won’t be able to pay back the interest portion right away. It would be wiser to take a payday loan for a portion of your check so that you can pay off the loan in one lump sum once payday comes along. Sometimes unanticipated expenses put us in a bind. If you borrow wisely, payday loans can come in very handy. They can help you to cover those unexpected bills as well as everyday expenses while you wait for your regular check to arrive.
