How Compatible Are You and Your Partner?

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

By Kim Olver What are the things you argue about? Where are the disagreements? The small resentments? Where do you have to give in to get along? Do you argue over money? Are you fighting over sex? Do you have different ideas about how much time you should spend together and apart? Do you squabble over extended family and friends? Is one of you daring and reckless, while the other wants to play things safe? Does one of you want to be right all the time? Does one of you want to always be in control? Do you disagree about the fun activities in your life? Couples may have conflict over many areas but do you know there is a simple explanation for the conflict? When looking for a life partner, it is a good idea to take a close look at your Need Strength Profile, based on Dr. William Glassers work in the area of Choice Theory. This simple assessment will determine where you and your partner are in terms of the five basic needs and help you determine what areas are compatible and what areas should generate discussion and possible compromise and negotiation. There is a free assessment at www.therelationshipcenter.biz on the “Free Stuff” page that will provide a rudimentary understanding of where you are with regard to the five basic human needs of Choice Theory—love & belong, survival, power, freedom and fun. If you are seeking compatibility in a relationship, you and your partner can both take this assessment and then discuss your results based on the rest of this article. The first need is called love & belonging. It is the need that determines how much connection you require with others. Generally speaking, relationships work best when you have equivalent strengths of the love & belonging need. This is the need that will help you determine as a couple how much time you spend together and how much time is needed apart. Loving sex and romance is another aspect of this need, as are extended family and friends. The second of the five basic needs is survival. This is so much more than just the need to physically survive, although that is part of it. It is also the psychological need to feel safe and secure. Areas of potential conflict around this need involve the ability to adapt to change, how you spend and save money, preparations one makes for safety, spontaneity, among other things. The third of the human needs is power, which can be a difficult need to understand because power generally has a negative connotation associated with it. When people hear “power” they often think of one person exerting their power over another person. While this is one way, albeit not the best way, to meet one’s power need, there are two other ways which are more responsible and palatable. There are three ways to meet one’s need for power—power over others, power with others and power within ourselves. Power over others is not a responsible way to meet one’s power need because it interferes with the other person getting his or her needs met. There are plenty of people who use power over others but I am advocating for the other two ways when seeking compatibility in relationships. When people have a high need for power, they are born driven to get this need met. They dont know how to get it met; they just know they must find power. Often, you can observe in small children the tendency to power over others. Then, hopefully, life teaches children the other two ways to seek power. When you look for “power with” others, it means that you are able to work cohesively with a group of people to advance toward a common goal. Many winning sports teams display this “power with” concept, as well as effective work teams and even fully functioning families. “Power with” others can be a very satisfying way of meeting ones power needs. The final way to meet ones need for power is “power within” oneself. This is generally seen as a need for pride or competence. Those with a high power need who meet it through power within methods like to always do their best. They may seem to be perfectionistic but producing their best is very need satisfying to them. In relationships, this power need accounts for workaholism, people who always need to control everything around them and a low degree of tolerance for imperfection in others. The power need has a big influence in interpersonal relationships. The fourth need to discuss is the need for freedom. People with a high need for freedom are independent and like to do things their own way. High freedom need people generally don’t like rules—particularly ones that don’t make sense. They also value their time alone. They like to do what they want, when they want. There is usually an inverse relationship between the love & belonging and the freedom needs. When a person has a high need for love & belonging, he or she typically has a lower need for freedom and vice versa. Of course, there are exceptions but typically there is an opposite relationship between the two. The last of Choice Theorys basic human needs is fun. Fun seems pretty straightforward but there are some subtleties to it that are necessary to understand. There are basically three kinds of fun. There is the loud, energetic kind of fun that people might get from physical activity and parties, for example. There is the quiet, relaxing kind of fun that might be enjoyed by fishing, lying in a hammock on a warm summers day or reading for pleasure. Then there is learning as fun. Now, Im not talking about when you learned algebra! For most of us that wasnt fun but I am talking about learning something you are interested in that has useful application for you. For me, the best example is when I learned how to downhill ski and made it the first time down the slope without falling and getting snow down my jacket, up my pant legs and various other places! It is the sheer joy of learning something that interests you. Everyone has various ways of meeting their fun needs and it is these differences that can drastically affect your satisfaction in your relationship. It is not always true that in order for your relationship to succeed, you must have equal or almost equal need strengths in all five needs. For some needs, it is best when one of you is high and one of you is low in that need. Go to www.TheRelationshipCenter.biz and take the free assessment today. Nerve Pain: Try Using Visualizations And You May Get Some Relief

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

By Ben Plumb “Neuropathic” means nerve damage and refers to nerve pain. So far there’s very little that science can do about it. But it’s possible that your subconscious may be able to help you find some relief. The two forms of neuropathic pain–peripheral and central–both occur when a nerve is damaged from injury or some other source. If the damage is in the periphery of your body, you feel pain from touch immediately. If it’s in the central nervous system, you only feel it after a delay of 20-30 secondsand potentially the pain is more intense. Peripheral Nerve Pain Some major types of peripheral nerve pain include the following: Postherpetic Neuralgia occurs after an outbreak of shingles has healed. Shingles damages the nerves, which then send unclear and overblown pain messages to the brain. The result can be aching, burning, or jabbing pain in the area of the former shingles infection. Trigeminal Neuralgia affects the trigeminal nerve, which sends impulses from the face and head to the brain. The pain can be severe and is usually felt on one side of the jaw as being knife-like or electric in nature. Central Nerve Pain Central nerve pain is unique among the types of pain in that it is the only one that is caused by the central nervous system itself. All other types occur in the periphery and are transmitted to the central nervous system. This makes central pain unusually bizarre and severe–perhaps the worst pain known to humanity. Some major types of central pain include the following: Dysesthetic Burning is a blunt, metallic burning feeling that has a strangely cold quality to it. It goes on at a constant level over large areas of the body. Any light touch, particularly from clothing, triggers flares of unbearable pain. Hyperpathia is a sharp, overwhelming reaction to pain that people who don’t have central nerve pain would find only somewhat painful. It tends to occur on parts of the body where the dysesthetic burning is the least. Ordinary bumps and abrasions can become excruciating. Allodynia is pain that occurs from stimuli that are not normally painful. It appears near but not on the area stimulated. The slightest of movements can trigger the pain. Other forms of central pain include permanent cramping in given muscles, shooting pains, pins and needles, and agonizing bladder and bowel pain. Neuropathic Pain and the Subconscious Through visualization statements it may be possible to focus your subconscious on the brain chemistry involved in central nerve pain. Visualization statements represent the specific language that your subconscious wants you to read back to it to help ease your pain. Theyre simple and are targeted directly at the main factors that could bring you relief. You can obtain these statements by learning how to communicate directly with your own subconscious mind. The process is straightforward and can be done at home by working with a facilitator over the telephone. You you need no special skills and no previous experience in working with the subconscious. We have not yet worked with neuropathic pain. However, the signals for this pain are transmitted by the same neurotransmitters that we normally deal with when focusing the subconscious on other kinds of pain: We have experience using visualization statements to address glutamate, substance P, norepinephrine, and acetylcholine, the four major pain transmitters. We’ve used visualizations to address endorphins/enkephalins, GABA, serotonin, and dopamine, the four major pain inhibiters. Reducing the Pain Signal The above eight neurotransmitters play a major role in increasing and inhibiting nerve pain. Putting these factors back in balance is thus a preventive measure, one that helps to keep the pain signal from being generated in the first place. But an important part of your pain relief strategy also needs also to be to attempt to reduce the pain signal once it has been generated. This can be approached by focusing the subconscious on numerous chemical weak points (we call them leverage points) where it may be possible to use visualizations to reduce the pain signal. If you can learn to engage your subconscious, you most likely will be able to identify which leverage points apply to you. You can then use visualization statements to give your subconscious the daily reinforcement it needs to possibly take the edge off your pain at those points. Testimonial Goldmines

Monday, August 27th, 2007

By Brian McElroy Not all testimonials are created equal. As any marketer knows, testimonials are an important part of communicating a message of trust to potential clients and customers. Exactly how to use testimonials, however, can be a bit of a mystery to the uninitiated. Theres a reason some testimonials are particularly effective… they speak directly to the conversation that your visitor has going on in their head when reading your sales copy. When someone visits your web page, they are there for a very specific reason. The closer your page comes to describing exactly what your visitor is thinking, the more effective it will be in getting your desired result. That means that testimonials have to be targeted to your specific audience… general “you’re so great” testimonials just won’t do the job in most cases. Here are some basic elements many great testimonials include: 1) Skepticism Visitors who are reading your testimonials are probably doing so because they’re not 100% sure about the service or product that you offer. Sometimes only a converted skeptic can convert another skeptic. Just make sure they give a happy ending :-) 2) If I can do it… Not everyone thinks theyre a superstar. If you can show how regular folks have benefitted from your product or service, other regular folks will sign up, too. If you have a current customer with an impressive story that involves your product, make sure to ask for a testimonial! It just might inspire your prospects to make the leap as well. 3) The WOW factor Lets face it, many people are looking for BIG results online. Have you delivered in the past? Make sure you let your visitors hear about it! Numbers are key. They will authenticate the story related by the person giving the testimonial, and will help put a definite picture in your prospects mind. 4) The roller-coaster Often the most convincing testimonials begin with a sob story, some kind of problem that the writer was struggling with. Until, of course, she read your e-book! (Or bought your software… or purchased your training DVDs… you get the picture.) This kind of story, provided it touches on one of your main benefits, is a true testimonial gold mine. When you closely link your testimonials to your visitors, you simply can’t lose. What’s the best way to do that? Ask for plenty of testimonials! Brian D. The Amazing Hummingbird

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

By George Steiner Without a doubt, hummingbirds are beautiful and interesting creatures. Those living in the wild usually have a lifespan of 3 to 5 years. However, in captivity, hummingbirds can survive for more than 10 years! They feed off of insects, taking down an average of 400 to 500 per day, even more when it rains. They also eat more when they are about to migrate, sometime even doubling their weight for the long flight ahead. Hummingbirds also feed on flower nectar, helping the flower out at the same time by pollinating it. For this reason, the Portuguese gave the hummingbird its name meaning flower kisser. There are even North American plants that depend on hummingbirds for pollination. They can hover above the flower or feeders thanks to their unique wings; in order for them to make forward and backward strokes consecutively their wings rotate at their shoulders. Some hummingbirds wings flap as slow as 18 times per second, and some can beat them at an astonishing 70 to 80 flaps per second. They breathe an average of 250 times per minute. These small birds have speed, flying at speeds over 45 mph, and with bodies ranging from 2 to 8 , they are also quite agile. There are over 338 species of hummingbirds, but only about 16 are common in the United States. The Ruby-throated Hummingbird is the only species common east of the Mississippi. Males of these species have a ruby colored throat, while the females have a pale, often speckled throat. It is common with most species of hummingbirds for the male to be colorful and flashy. They arrive at nesting grounds early to claim a territory and then flash their neon colors to attract females. Males have more than one mate, and females can tend to several nests at one time. She may be building one nest while still caring for newly hatched babies. The main responsibility of a female is to take care of the nest. She lays two very small white eggs at a time; when the hatchlings start to outgrow the nest, it will actually stretch with them because of the elasticity of the spider webs it is made of. The nestling will stay in the nest for about 21 days before going out to forage their own food. After that, its on its own! Enjoy! George & Judy www.hum-ming-bird.com. George and wife Judy are empty nesters (ah ha no wonder the affinity for birds!)who enjoy the outdoors, stained glass and eagerly awaiting for the truckloads of laundry that their two college daughters bring home. Of recent, the internet has played an integral part in George’s lengthening “To Do” list and Judy’s search for a internet rehabilitation center. Wedding Invitations! Get It Right, From The Start!

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

By Carmel Baird You have decided on your wedding ceremony and your wedding reception, everything is booked. Now is the time to think about your wedding invitations. Do you have a theme for your wedding? Or are you just going with a color scheme? Either way, this will help you decide on the style of wedding invitation. You should have a list of guests, family and friends, that you wish to invite. Having said that, you also need to decide if it will be an adults only wedding or if you will be including all the family, adults and children. You can save money with the cost of the invitations if you are including the whole family as smaller children can be included on the invitation sent to the parents, adult children sometimes like their own invitation. With computers these days, many invitations are designed and printed on the home computer. There are some wonderful papers and styles and even computer programs especially for just this. The tone of the invitation will follow the tone of the wedding. A more formal wedding will have a more formal wedding invitations, a more relaxed, casual style wedding will have a more relaxed style of invitation. If you dont want to try the computer invitations, another option is the specialty packs available from stationery suppliers. They can include the invitations, place cards for the wedding reception, thank you notes and envelopes and matching stationery for personal notes etc. The next option is the printer, you can find these normally in the yellow pages and often times they will be listed under Weddings. Make your list, phone for appointments and get your quotes. Whatever way you decide to go, you will need the wording for the invitations. Basically it is the four Ws, Who, What, Where and When. Who– is doing the inviting, this will be the name of the host and/or hostess What– is announcing the celebration of the marriage of… Where– Is the place where the ceremony and reception will take place When–is the date the happy event will occur. Then comes the RSVP by a certain date. When you think about it, you are inviting someone to an event, your wedding, you want them to know who is inviting them, you want them to know where it is and when it is. There may be those you are only inviting to the wedding ceremony, then there will be the guests you wish to celebrate with you at both the ceremony and the wedding reception and then the guests who will be only invited to the wedding reception. So your invitations could be for three different events. You will need three different lists. Browse other wedding invitations, you will find wedding etiquette books or online sites that will help you. Start a file of the ones you like the best, then make your decision. Six weeks before the wedding date is a good time to send the invitations out. This is considered enough time for your friends and family to organize to have the date free. Always check with the wedding caterers and/or reception venue as to when they require the definite guest numbers and remember to include the bridal party and immediate families. When ordering invitations specially printed, order extra in case you make some mistakes when writing them out. While we are on the writing out of invitations, calligraphers will do this for you and give your invitations that old world feel, this of course, depends on the theme of your wedding too. In some cultures, it is the tradition to include the RSVP and return addressed and postage stamped envelope with the invitation. This is an extra cost and not always necessary today. If you include your phone number as well as your address for the RSVP, then including the stamped, addressed envelope may be an unnecessary added cost. Remember, inviting someone to your most special day, your wedding day, will make them feel so special. 8 Lessons in Strategic Marketing A La ‘Daddy Daycare’

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

By Bobette Kyle I bet you thought the movie “Daddy Daycare” was a kiddie comedy, right? Wrong…It’s a marketing strategy film! When Charlie and his friend Phil are fired as Product Development/Brand Managers for a cereal company, they decide to fill a need in their community. Along the way to success they demonstrate several solid marketing strategies — equally applicable to online, offline, and integrated companies. Take these lessons to heart when developing plans for your business. Lesson 1: Research the competition The future entrepreneurs visited each daycare in the area. While doing so, they got a feel for their daycare competitors. By knowing your own competitors you will be better able to effectively find a way to compete. Competitor research does not have to be thought of as “guerrilla warfare.” In many industries, competitors work together by partnering, cross promoting, sending business to each other, or even manufacturing each other’s products. Lesson 2: Know your customers’ values Charlie and Phil understood that price is not the only important factor for their target market. Based on their own experience and customer research (talking to other parents), they recognized that other concerns besides price played a part when parents choose a daycare provider. While price is almost certainly a consideration for your customers, don’t get caught in the mentality that customers will buy from you only if you have the lowest cost. If you think of your own service/product as a bundle of attributes having a unique value for your customers, you will be more successful. Lesson 3: Identify opportunities Charlie and Phil uncovered an unmet need in the market by combining their competitor research and knowledge of customer values. You can do the same when looking to develop new products/services or improve existing ones. Lesson 4: Develop a positioning based on opportunity Using knowledge from the first three lessons, they positioned themselves as the quality alternative and focused on providing different benefits than their nearest competitor. In the movie, Daddy Daycare stole all the competitor’s customers and drove her out of business. In real life, customers choose a product/service that best fits their needs. Consequently, competitors can co-exist when each are valuable in different ways to industry customers. Lesson 5: Create a catchy tag line The tag line “Who’s your Daddy?” helped advertise the new business. Often, a concise, catchy tag line can go a long way in building brand equity, communicating benefits and features, and/or conveying a feeling/mentality your target customers can relate to. Some examples: “Just do it.” (Nike) “Life Unscripted” (TLC) “Naturally sweetened whole grain oat cereal with real berries.” (Berry Burst Cheerios) “Makes anything possible.” (Craftsman) Lesson 6: Spread the Word Phil and Charlie put their tag line on t-shirts along with their business name. They also printed and distributed flyers that explained their new company’s positioning. A few more ideas you can use to spread the word about your business: Word of mouth — give customers an incentive to tell people about your business. Advertising — use both online and offline methods. Online options include pay-per-click search engines and ezine advertisements. Offline methods include radio spots and newspaper advertisements. Philanthropy — donate money, services, and/or time to non-profit organizations or conduct your own event. Lesson 7: Be ethical and above-board The new business owners cooperated fully with the daycare inspector. They treated him as a source of information rather than “Big Brother”. This resulted in not only a better business, but also a valuable ally. In the long run, your own company will be more likely to thrive if you concentrate on improving the business rather than dodging regulations. Lesson 7A: Subterfuge is a poor long-term strategy Besides being unethical, subterfuge soils your reputation. In the movie, the competing daycare crashed and ruined a fundraiser event…spilling bugs, freeing animals, and drenching visitors. Short-term, it worked. Phil and Charlie were broke, seemingly with no way to continue with their venture. In the long run, Ms. Subterfuge had such a poor reputation (from this and other business tactics), her business failed. Lesson 8: Implement until you’re blue in the face In the beginning, the new Daddy Daycare was a complete disaster. Charlie and Phil did their “homework” and knew they had a good idea. When reality hit theory, however, a few not-so-minor details got in the way. Like all successful marketers, they worked out the kinks (okay…disasters) and kept trying (and trying, and trying) until they got it right. Keep the Daddy Daycare lessons in mind when developing and implementing your own marketing plan. Don’t give up, strive to continually improve, and you’re business is sure to be a success. IVR (Interactive Voice Response) - A Brief Explanation

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jason_Morris]Jason Morris IVR (interactive voice response) is a telephony technology that allows users to interact with a database through phone keypad or voice commands. IVR automated systems save businesses money and employee resources, while making routine services and inquiries available to the public 24 hours a day. Most of us use IVR systems daily to do things like check bank balances, manage credit cards, check for store hours or locations, or order prescription medicine. Human interaction is not required because the IVR system only allows limited access to the database, though an option might exist to be switched to a live operator during business hours. IVR systems are also used to report non-emergency problems to cable or utility services, and to schedule appointments with government or state offices; for example, the Department Of Motor Vehicles. Integrating text-to-speech (TTS) functionality, IVR systems can deliver dynamic information as well, such as weather, news, traffic or stock reports. Campaigns, pollsters and survey takers also make use of IVR systems. In these cases, the system places outgoing calls. A recorded voice asks questions and requests simple answers, like “yes,” “no,” or “undecided.” The IVR system might have limited to extensive built-in voice recognition, depending on the requirements of the application. Answers might also be directed through the phone’s keypad. Press 1 for yes and 2 for no, for example. IVR automation makes it possible to reach far more people than through actually manning phones. Commonly, IVR systems are installed in-house, however, there are also “outsourced solution providers,” or OSPs. These IVR providers maintain the system on their own premises, integrating it through the client’s network. OSP solutions have advantages and disadvantages. Obvious advantages include avoiding installation of a new IVR infrastructure, and an IVR-savvy staff to maintain the system. Disadvantages may include a feature-set or template that might not fit your business model as well as you’d like, and surrendered control over critical functions deferred to the IVR system. Poorly designed IVR systems are often criticized by the public for not providing easy or helpful assistance. The goal design of any IVR system should be to get the customer what he or she needs in as few steps as possible while allowing for security and logistical needs. Search engines will reveal a multitude of links to IVR systems and solution providers to help you find the right IVR system for your business. Understanding Dating Violence

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By Ron Zvagelsky It is important to realize that people who are inclined to domestic or dating violence will not show it in the first few dates. There are warning signs you will want to look for, and when you see them, you will want to stop dating the person immediately, no matter how much you’re attracted to the person. All of the warning signs can be defined in one word, and this word is “control.” If you are dating someone who gives the impression that they always want to be in control, this may be a bad sign. Those who are violent need to have power over their victims. While dating violence can be connected to both genders, it is commonly inflicted on women by the men who date them. However, women can display violent tendencies as well. If you notice that your partner is abnormally jealous of other people such as your family or friends, this is a bad sign. You will also want to watch for dating partners who say “you belong to them.” While this may be harmless, be wary of someone who actually sees you as being their property. You will also want to watch for dating partners who get angry because they tried to call you, but were unable to reach you. These people will typically want to know exactly where you were, or what you were doing. When it comes to anger, how does you partner rank? Are they constantly upset about something? If the answer to this question is yes, you should seriously evaluate whether or not you should continue dating them. Women will want to watch for men who tell them not to dress up or shave when they are dating. In addition to this, when you say “no,” does your partner listen immediately, or do you have to repeat yourself? Dating violence is a serious issue that you will not want to take lightly. As you read this article, think about the person you’re dating. If these things describe them, you are putting yourself in a potentially dangerous situation. When you are dating, think carefully about the person you are with. If you seen bad signs, do not ignore them, and avoid thinking you can change them. People who have abusive tendencies will generally display them for the rest of their lives. Ron Zvagelsky has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. How Does Collagen Work And Why Does It Help Prevent Wrinkles?

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

By Gregg Hall Does anyone in there right mind what to deal with the effects of aging like wrinkled faces, saggy skin, and achy joints? If you answered yes then you have problems more severe than I can help you with. Humanity has been enthralled with the thought of being able to roll back time or find a Fountain of Youth, and no wonder, getting old is a pain. I saw a T-shirt once that said, “Getting old isn’t for sissies”. That statement is so true. I do have good news though; it’s never too late to take steps towards reversing the aging process or at least slowing it down. A lot of the problems I just mentioned are created by collagen loss. Collagen is the component in our body that basically helps hold us together. It is present in our skin, bones, cartilage and other connective tissues and is crucial to maintaining a youthful body and appearance. The reason that many of us feel we are rapidly falling downhill when it comes to the aging process is because we are! Science has proven that beginning at twenty five we begin to lose collagen at the rate of 1.5% a year which means that by age sixty we have lost over 50% of the collagen we had as a 25 year old! No wonder we feel old, we have lost more than half of the substance that protects our synovial fluids and cartilage from degenerating. Wrinkles and sagging skin are the result of the loss of collagen in our skin as well other signs of aging such as patchy dry skin. There are supplements that can help reverse this and slow it down. Now that you understand how collagen holds us together and how important it is to our bodies you should appreciate the need for supplementation to help reduce the loss. There are many different collagen supplements on the market today which work to help restore the substance in our bodies. You will begin to feel less joint pain and see an improvement in skin condition after getting on a regimen of supplementation. Collagen supplements are all natural and not harmful to you in any way and the benefits of taking them include revitalizing your skin and keeping it healthy, reducing the occurrence of fine lines and wrinkles, strengthening your nails and improving the condition of your hair. The best use of the supplements is to take it before exercise and strenuous physical activity as it works to help increase energy and performance. These supplements also help to renew lean muscle and help in fat metabolism helping you maintain and manage your weight. Gregg Hall is an author living in Navarre Florida. Italian Cuisine: Style as Well as Substance

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

By Leslie Gibbon Italian Cuisine is much more regional and varied than many people imagine. It is easy to think that some pasta, some marinara sauce, a crust of Italian bread and a glass of wine is the beginning and end of Italian cuisine, especially if you grew up in the United States. There is much more than red sauce and starch on the agenda for most Italian regional cuisines, and with all of the various regions and cultures in the boot on the ocean. Form the snow capped north to the sun drenched islands of the Mediterranean; Italian cuisine is as varied as the landscape. Tuscany is one of the gems of northern Italy and thousands of tourists flock to this beautiful region every year. Tuscany is sought out for its simple but delicious dishes, seasoned sparingly with basil, parsley, and thyme. Tuscan bread and a little bit of olive oil are a big part of the seafood dishes of the Tuscan region. Abruzzo, a little known treasure in the Middle Eastern section of the boot mixes chili peppers into almost all of their dishes. Like many other regions in Italy, there is a mixture of mountain and seafood dishes. Although pasta is usually a main dish in many countries, in this and many regions of Italy it is as likely to be served as an hors dourves. Most of the chefs in the Abruzzo region are skilled at hand rolling their own stuffed pastas, and crepes are used in meat dishes, rolled in savory sauces or put in to broths. Polenta is as prevalent in this part of Italy as pasta and the local sausages are some of the best you will come across. Sardinia is home to a diverse cuisine and their island roots are reflected in their love of all things seafood. This, in addition to a rich heritage of not only Italians, but also Arabs, French, Greeks, and Spaniards, has made the island home to a diverse culture of seafood and meat dishes spiced with fennel and saffron. The Sardinians have a number of specialist cheeses based on sheep’s rather than cows milk and a penchant for good solid home cooking, such as stews, that give the local cuisine a wonderful richness. Emilia-Romagna although not a name that springs to mind when you are discussing Italy, has perhaps the finest regional cuisine in the country. It is often called the market basket of Italy. Located in northern Italy, Emilia-Romagna is home to many of Italys most renowned dishes, like Prosciutto di Parma, Mortadella, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and balsamic vinegar. Highly spiced food and a more stylish presentation are the hallmarks of this wonderful part of Italy. The Italian cuisine that we are used to eating abroad is only the tip of the iceberg and it is well worth exploring in depth the styles and variations of Italian regional cuisine. The style of the food is very often influenced by its proximity to other areas such as Northern Africa and other Mediterranean and European countries. All of these places have deeply affected Italian regional cuisines. Shepard’s, shopkeepers, farmers, and fisherman all contribute to one of the most diverse cultural cuisines in the world. . When you next go out for Italian food try and see if you can find something a little more regional than the ubiquitous pasta and pizza, who knows it could be the start of a real passion for Italian regional cuisine. ————————————- For more information on Italian Food, plus a large selection of recipes visit:http://italianfood.2k-search.com/ Leslie Gibbon.http://www.lesliegibbon.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Leslie_Gibbon http://EzineArticles.com/?Italian-Cuisine:-Style-as-Well-as-Substance&id=149399 fda him guidelines get imitrex these imitrex has side how effects your neck take pain many imitrex my inection all imitrex as without over a an prescription we
